Who We Are

We're not your typical architecture firm - and honestly, that's the point.

Started back in 2011, LuminCrest came together when three of us realized we'd rather design buildings people actually want to live and work in, instead of chasing awards that look good on shelves. Don't get me wrong, we've picked up a few trophies along the way, but what really keeps us going is seeing a client's face when they walk into their finished space for the first time.

Based right here in Toronto's Queen West neighborhood, we've gotten pretty good at mixing contemporary design with sustainable practices that actually make sense - not just greenwashing for marketing purposes. Our approach is pretty straightforward: listen more, assume less, and design spaces that'll work for the long haul.

LuminCrest Studio

Our Philosophy

Every project's got its own story, and we're here to help tell it through design that respects both the environment and your budget.

Sustainable by Default

We've been doing LEED certification since before it was trendy. Energy efficiency, responsible materials, and designs that reduce carbon footprint aren't extras for us - they're baseline.

Context Matters

A building doesn't exist in a vacuum. We spend real time understanding neighborhoods, climate patterns, and how people actually move through spaces - not just what looks good in renderings.

Clear Communication

Architecture jargon is useful in the studio, but we'll always explain things in plain language. Your project, your investment - you deserve to understand every decision we're making.

Team Collaboration

How We Work

First meeting's always casual - we grab coffee, walk the site, and talk through what you're actually hoping to achieve. No sales pitch, just conversation.

From there, we'll put together a proposal that's honest about timelines and costs. Architecture projects have a way of getting complicated, so we're upfront about potential challenges right from the start.

During design phases, you'll see regular updates and have plenty of chances to give feedback. We use 3D visualizations because they're way easier to understand than technical drawings, and we want you involved in the process.

Construction phase? We're still around, making sure contractors are following the plans and handling any field changes that come up. We're invested til the keys are in your hand.
