Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2025

Look, we get it - nobody really wants to read legal documents. But here's the deal: at LuminCrest Architecture, we're pretty serious about keeping your personal information safe. This policy breaks down what we collect, why we need it, and how we're protecting it.

We're based in Toronto, Ontario, and we follow Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA, for those who care about acronyms). We've tried to make this as straightforward as possible, 'cause honestly, transparency matters when you're trusting us with your data.

By using our website or working with us, you're agreeing to what's laid out here. If something doesn't sit right with you, let's talk about it.

Personal Details You Share

When you reach out or work with us, we'll typically collect stuff like your name, email, phone number, mailing address, and company info if that's relevant. Sometimes we need property details or project specifications - basically whatever helps us understand what you're looking for.

Stuff We Automatically Gather

Like most websites these days, we collect some technical data when you visit - your IP address, browser type, what pages you check out, how long you stick around. Nothing creepy, just standard website analytics to help us make things better.

Project-Related Information

Once we're working together, we'll collect and store project documents, site photos, design preferences, budget considerations - all the good stuff that goes into creating spaces you'll actually love. This helps us keep everything organized and accessible throughout your project.

We're not in the business of hoarding data for no reason. Here's what we actually do with your info:

  • Project delivery: Designing your spaces, coordinating with contractors, getting permits - the actual architecture work.
  • Communication: Keeping you updated on project progress, answering questions, scheduling site visits.
  • Business operations: Invoicing, contract management, maintaining project records.
  • Improvement: Understanding how people use our site, what services folks are interested in, how we can do better.
  • Legal compliance: Meeting building codes, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Marketing: Only if you've said it's cool, we might send occasional updates about our work or sustainability initiatives.

We'll never sell your personal information. That's just not how we roll.

Sometimes we need to share information with others to get your project done right:

  • Project partners: Engineers, contractors, consultants who're working on your project with us.
  • Service providers: Cloud storage, accounting software, project management tools - the digital infrastructure that keeps things running smoothly.
  • Government entities: Building departments, planning offices - when permits and approvals are needed.
  • Legal requirements: If we're legally obligated to disclose information (court orders, regulatory requests, that sort of thing).
  • Business transitions: In the unlikely event we merge with or are acquired by another firm, your info would transfer as part of that deal.

Everyone we work with is held to the same privacy standards. We make sure of it through contracts and agreements.

Yeah, we use cookies - but not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately. These are small text files that help our website remember your preferences and understand how you're using the site.

What We Use
  • Essential cookies: Keep the site functioning properly - can't really turn these off.
  • Analytics cookies: Help us see what's working and what's not on our site.
  • Preference cookies: Remember your settings and choices.

Most browsers let you control cookie settings. Just know that blocking all cookies might make some parts of our site wonky or unusable. Your call though.

Under Canadian privacy law, you've got some solid rights when it comes to your personal data:

  • Access: You can ask to see what personal information we have about you.
  • Correction: If something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your information (unless we're legally required to keep it).
  • Objection: You can object to certain uses of your data, like marketing communications.
  • Portability: Get a copy of your data in a format you can use elsewhere.
  • Withdrawal: Change your mind about consent you've previously given.

To exercise any of these rights, just shoot us an email at info@lumincrest.info. We'll get back to you within 30 days, usually way faster.

We take data security seriously. Our approach includes:

  • Encrypted data transmission (SSL/TLS protocols)
  • Secure cloud storage with reputable Canadian providers
  • Regular security updates and patches
  • Limited access to personal data - only team members who actually need it
  • Regular backups to prevent data loss
  • Secure file sharing for project documents

Real talk though - no security system is 100% foolproof. We do everything reasonably possible to protect your data, but we can't guarantee absolute security. If we ever experience a data breach that affects your information, we'll let you know ASAP and take immediate steps to address it.

Our website might link to other sites - supplier portfolios, sustainability certification bodies, industry resources, that kind of thing. Once you click through to another site, their privacy policies take over, not ours.

We try to only link to reputable sources, but we can't control what they do with your data. It's worth checking out their privacy policies before sharing any personal information on those sites.

Our services aren't directed at anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you're a parent or guardian and you think your child has given us their information, please reach out and we'll delete it right away.

That said, we do design family homes and spaces where kids will spend time - we just don't collect data directly from children themselves.

We might update this policy from time to time - laws change, our practices evolve, technology moves forward. When we make significant changes, we'll post the updated policy here and update the "Last updated" date at the top.

For major changes that affect how we handle your data, we'll try to give you a heads-up via email if we have your contact info. But it's a good idea to check this page occasionally just to stay in the loop.

Got questions about this privacy policy? Want to exercise your privacy rights? Just want to chat about how we handle data? We're here for it.

A Note on Data Retention

We keep your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by law. For active projects, that's usually the duration of the project plus 7 years (standard practice for architectural records in Canada). After that, we securely delete or anonymize your data unless there's a legitimate reason to keep it longer.
